Why does the Sun look like a red disc during sunrise and sunset?

During sunrise and
sunset, the sunlight
has to travel a much
longer distance than
during the rest of the
day. The scattered blue
light is not able to cover
this extra distance and
therefore does not
reach our eyes. The
red light reaches us, as
the wavelength of red
is longer. This helps
red light travel further.
This is why the Sun
appears like a red disc.

Why are we not able to see objects on the other side of a wall?

We are able to see an object when light
bounces off that object and reaches our eyes.
However, solid objects like a wall block the
light from passing through to the other side.
Instead, the light hits the wall and bounces
back. Therefore, we are able to see the wall
but not the objects on the other side.

Does light always travel in a straight line?

Light travels in a straight line unless an
object is placed in its path. If the object is
solid the light bends around the edges of
the object, creating a shadow. If you place
a mirror in its path, the light hits the surface
and gets reflected. If you use a transparent
object, the light goes through it, but its
direction is altered slightly. This phenomenon
is called refraction.

How long does it take for sunlight to travel to the Earth?

Light from the Sun takes about eight
minutes to reach us on the Earth. This is
because sunlight travels at an incredible
speed of about 300,000 kilometres per second
(186,000 miles per second). Nothing in this
universe travels faster than that!

How many bones do we have?

A human baby is born with 270 bones.
Some of these join together as we grow and
by the time we are adults we only have 206
bones. The central part of our skeleton has
74 bones, including 26 bones in our spine,
22 in our skull and 25 in our ribs.

Our arms and legs have 126 bones – 62 in
our legs and 64 in our arms. Our ears have
six bones each. Bones are hard outside and
spongy inside. This is what makes them light.
Different parts of our body have different
types of bones. All together we have have
four kinds of bones: long, short, flat and
irregular bones. In some parts of our
body, there is cartilage instead of bones.
The cartilge is a rubbery connective
tissue. It is elastic and
helps in movement.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR): no action today, no cure tomorrow

Antimicrobial resistance is not a new problem but one that is becoming more dangerous; urgent and consolidated efforts are needed to avoid regressing to the pre-antibiotic era.

To underline the importance of growing antimicrobial resistance, WHO has selected combating antimicrobial resistance as the theme for World Health Day 2011. On World Health Day 2011, WHO will introduce a six-point policy package to combat the spread of antimicrobial resistance.

Antimicrobial resistance and its global spread

We live in an era in which we depend on antibiotics, and other antimicrobial medicines to treat conditions that decades ago, or even a few years ago, as in the case of HIV/AIDS, would have proved fatal. When antimicrobial resistance - also known as drug resistance - occurs, it renders these medicines ineffective. For World Health Day 2011, WHO will be calling for intensified global commitment to safeguard these medicines for future generations. Antimicrobial resistance - the theme of World Health Day 2011 - and its global spread, threatens the continued effectiveness of many medicines used today to treat infectious diseases.

Considering the above, WHO will call on governments and stakeholders to implement policies and practices needed to prevent and counter the emergence of highly resistant microorganisms. More >..

Dengue

Dengue is an outbreak prone viral disease, transmitted to human beings by the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes, principally Aedes aegypti.  In recent years there has been an increase in the number of dengue outbreaks across the world due to increasing mosquitogenic conditions in urban and peri-urban areas resulting from rapid urbanization, developmental activities and lifestyle changes.  Heavy rainfall adds to development of outbreak situations by increasing the number of breeding sites. Over 100 countries have reported dengue with more than 2.5 billion people at risk and an estimated 50 million infections every year. The major disease burden is found in countries of South-East Asia and the Western Pacific regions.

हमारे भ्रष्ट राजनेताओं और नोकरशाहों ने कैसे देश को लूटा है और ये लूट का सिलसिला अभी तक 2011 तक जारी है.
इस सिलसिले को अब रोकना बहुत ज्यादा जरूरी हो गया है.
अंग्रेजो ने हमारे भारत पर करीब 200 सालो तक राज करके करीब 1 लाख करोड़ रुपये लूटा.
मगर आजादी के केवल 64 सालों में हमारे भ्रस्टाचार ने 280 लाख करोड़ लूटा है.
एक तरफ 200 साल में 1 लाख करोड़ है और दूसरी तरफ केवल 64 सालों में 280 लाख करोड़ है.
यानि हर साल लगभग 4.37 लाख करोड़, या हर महीने करीब 36 हजार करोड़ भारतीय मुद्रा स्विस बैंक में इन भ्रष्ट लोगों द्वारा जमा
करवाई गई है.
भारत को किसी वर्ल्ड बैंक के लोन की कोई दरकार नहीं है. सोचो की कितना पैसा हमारे भ्रष्ट राजनेताओं और उच्च अधिकारीयों ने ब्लाक करके रखा हुआ
है.
हमे भ्रस्ट राजनेताओं और भ्रष्ट अधिकारीयों के खिलाफ जाने का पूर्ण अधिकार है.हाल ही में हुवे घोटालों का आप सभी को पता ही है -
CWG घोटाला, २ जी स्पेक्ट्रुम घोटाला , आदर्श होउसिंग घोटाला ... और ना जाने कौन कौन से घोटाले अभी उजागर होने वाले है ........

एक आम आदमी जाने कितनी मेहनत से पैसे कमा कर टेक्स पे करता हे पर हमारे देश के घोटालेबाज नेता उस टेक्स का दुरूपयोग करके सिर्फ अपनी जेब भरते हे.
देश की जनता से टेक्स उसे मुलभुत सुविधा उपलब्ध करवाने के लिए लिया जाता हे पर वाही मुलभुत सुविधा पाने के लिए हमें एक बार फिर रिश्वत देनी पड़ती हे.
एक आम आदमी को सड़क पानी और बिजली जेसी मुलभुत सुविधाओ के लिए तरसना पड़ता हे.
हम टेक्स पे करते हे सड़क के लिए पर उसी सड़क पर चलने के लिए हमें फिर अलग से टोल टेक्स देना पड़ता हे क्योँ. ..? इससे तो अच्छा हे क्यों न सभी सुविधाओ
का निजीकारन कर दिया जाये और टेक्स बंद कर दिया जाये . 1700 हजार करोड का स्पेक्ट्रुम घोंटाला ,५०० करोड़ रस का कामन वेल्थ घोंटाला,और जाने कितने .? कभी कभी ऐसा नहीं लगता हर जगह सिर्फ आम आदमी ठगा जारहा हे. आज आम आदमी को जगाने की जरुरत हे .जरुरत हे मिस्र जेसी एक क्रांति की .
बेलगाम ब्रहशटाचार रिश्वतखोर होता नेता और अफसर बड़ती महंगाई आखिर कब तक कब जागेगे हम या इंतजार हे हमें और इससे भी बड़े कुछ घोंटाले
का इंतजार कर रहे हे हम . क्यों न हम सब मिल कर एक क्रांति का आगाज करे .

32 bit और 64 bit कंप्यूटर में अंतर

32 bit और 64 bit विन्दोव्स में क्या अंतर है. जो सबसे बड़ा अंतर है वो है RAM का. 32 bit में maximum RAM का लिमिट है - 4 GB का जबकि 64 bit में आप maximum usable RAM लिमिट है - 8Tb (128 GB , 64 bit Vista में , और 192GB , विन्दोव्स 7 में). लेकिन यही एक अंतर नहीं जिसे ध्यान में रखना चाहिए नया PC लेते वक़्त. इसके अलावा भी बहुत सारी चीजे ध्यान में रखनी चाहिए. यहाँ में मैं लगभग उन सारी बातो पर रोशनी डालूँगा जो आपको पूरी आईडिया बताएगी की दोनों में क्या क्या अंतर होता है.

१. Basic : एक और जो सबसे बड़ा अंतर होता है वो है सिस्टम का - “Addressable Space”. कभी सोचा है की क्यों 32 bit में maximum RAM का लिमिट है - 4 GB का जबकि 64 bit में आप maximum उसबले RAM लिमिट है - 8Tb . आखिर इसका कारन क्या है. और वो होता है - “Addressable Space” के चलते. हर सिस्टम को एक लिमिटेड “Addressable Space” दिया जाता है जो पूरी तरह उसके hardware पर depend होता है. जितना ज्यादा आपके सिस्टम में hardware होगा उतना ही “Addressable Space” alloted होगा.

अब RAM को बाकि बचा हुआ मिलेगा. यही कारन है की 32 Bit के सिस्टम में 4 GB का RAM डालने के वावजूद 3.52 GB RAM ही दिखता है.

आजकल के ज्यादातर सॉफ्टवेर 32 bit के लिए ही बने होते है. इसका मतलब है की यहाँ पर एक बहुत ही ज्यादा पर्फोर्मांस बढ़ने की संभावना नहीं है अगर आप 32 से 64 बीत पर स्विच करते है.

२. Operating system :

32 Bit OS
एक 32 bit के OS केवल 4 GB RAM को support कर सकता है. अब “Addressable Space” के चलते इसको 3 .52 GB ही RAM मिल रहा है. अब फिर से “Addressable Space” प्रोग्राम पर भी apply होता है. जिससे की वह किसी एक प्रोग्राम को एक लिमिट से ज्यादा RAM allot नहीं कर सकता. मतलब जैसे की 32 bit Photoshop को वह 2 GB राम से ज्यादा access करने नहीं दे सकता. इस तरह 3 .52 GB RAM होते हुए भी आप केवल 32 bit Photoshop में 2 GB RAM का ही यूज़ कर सकते है. एक 32 बीत सिस्टम को चलने के लिए कम memory requirement की जरुरत होती है जबकि 64 bit को चलाने के लिए ज्यादा memory requirement होती है. जैसे की 32 bit Windows 7 को मिनिमम 1 GB.

64 Bit OS
एक ६४ Bit OS का “Addressable Space” 8Tb RAM (128 GB , 64 bit Vista में , और 192GB , विन्दोव्स 7 में) का होता है. जबकि 32 Bit में ये लिमिट 2 GB का होता है. इसका मतलब ये OS किसी प्रोसेस को चलाने के लिए 8Tb RAM (128 GB , 64 bit Vista में , और 192GB , विन्दोव्स 7 में) तक allot कर सकता है. हालाँकि यह मेरा जाती मानना है की 2 GB RAM किसी प्रोसेस को चलाने के लिए काफी है. यहाँ पर एक और बात की 32 Bit का ड्राईवर बहुत आसानी से मिल जाता है जबकि 64 बीत थोडा मुश्किल से.

३. अन्य : कुछ लोगो का मानना है की एक बहुत बड़ा मुद्दा है - Non-compatibility का. 64 bit and 32 bit के प्रोग्राम एक दुसरे के साथ compatible नहीं हो सकते यानि नहीं चल सकते. लेकिन ये बात बेवजह है. Microsoft अपने OS को Hybrid architecture (Windows In Windows, or WoW) के साथ लिखती है जिसपर 64 bit and 32 bit दोनों के प्रोग्राम आसानी से चल सकते है. इसलिए आपको घबराने की जरुरत नहीं है की अगर आप 64 bit का PC लेते है तो उसपर 32 bit का प्रोग्राम चलेगा की नहीं. लेकिन फिर सिस्टम पर्फोर्मांस पर कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ेगा. क्युकी ज्यादातर प्रोग्राम अभी 32 बीत पर लिखे गए है और उन्हें 2 GB से ज्यादा RAM नहीं चाहिए.

फायदे 64 बीत PC लेने के:
जो प्रोग्राम 64 बीत पर लिखे गए है वो बेहतर पर्फोर्मांस देते है 32 bit के मुकाबले (जैसे की 64 bit Photoshop). क्युकी इसमे ज्यादा RAM allocate होता है.
ज्यादा RAM का आप्शन होता है.
ज्यादा “Addressable Space” होता है.

घाटे 64 बीत PC लेने के:
बहुत सरे प्रोग्राम अभी भी 32 बीत पर बनाते है.
32 bit का प्रोग्राम होने के चलते उन्हें minimum 2 GB RAM ही चाहिए होता है. अतः ज्यादा RAM बाधा के भी कोई फायदा नहीं.
चलने के लिए bit processor की जरुरत होती है.
ड्राईवर खोजना अभी भी मुश्किल काम.

सारांश: अंत में मैं यही कहूँगा की अगर आप future को देख कर चल रहे है तो 64 bit ज्यादा अच्छा है. main पिछले २ साल से 64 बीत यूज़ कर रहा हु और हां मुझे बहुत सारी प्रॉब्लम आती है लेकिन फिर भी ये अच्छा है. लेकिन अगर आप 4 GB से निचे का RAM वाला PC लेना चाहते है तो अच्छा है की 32 bit ले.

नोट: Windows 7 retail edition २ DVD पैक में आ रही है - एक 32 bit और dusara 64 bit .अआप जिसमे चाहे उसमे इन्स्टाल कर लेकिन key एक के लिए ही valid है.
aaj के time के हिसाब se ६४ bit ही लेना चाहिए क्योंकि ६२ bit processor पर आप ३२ bit ओपेरातिंग सिस्टम इन्स्टाल कर सकते है ! इसीलिए बिंदास होकर ६४ bit मशीन खरीदिये ! फिर चाहे उस पर ३२ bit या ६४ bit operating system उसे करें !
